Okay, here is the rest of San Diego

These next photos are (finally) from the rest of our stay in San Diego. Seems far from now, especially the warm weather! We had such a good, full of emotion and a busy visit. It was great being with family, friends, and of course eating some mexican food! We miss you all!

Take'n in that sea air. A night spent beach front in Mission Beach.
Quinn enjoyed the ocean breeze so much he laughed! (first time)

Brad, Merrilee, and Paxton invited us down to spend the night and enjoy a bar-b-que with friends at their brother and sister-in-law's beach house....So Nice!

Quinn got a good first visit and a good taste for (of) Uncle Pete.

The 'Warren' men headed out for a bike ride. Some day Quinn will be right there with them, but this day Q, was with the ladies at a bridal shower for Aunt Jill. (No pics of this, but it was Lovely!

A play date at Tamara and Steve's house where Quinn and Audrey got to play. Audrey had just learned how to point to eyes on a face. Maybe I should clarify...Audrey poked Quinn in the eye! We had a great time!

Quinn just being cute at G&D Niekrasz house.

A couple times we escaped from the heat by going to J Street Marina for a picnic. On this day, Quinn took on the look of 'Spanky' from The Little Rascals. He had a couple special guests from his gang join too!

Audrey's 1st birthday party. Quinn got to see what you get when you turn 1...a huge sugar filled cake all to yourself! Q got to meet some special people on this day. Jim Lovewell you are missed.

A yummy summer meal at Uncle Dave's.

Cocktails after the spa at the Warren house. Quinn loved sitting under this tree and espcially in the morning when Gramma Cindy would sing to him.

Mommy giving her little guy a cuddle.

Bath time in the kitchen window watching the sunset, all while hoping for a greenflash was a nice way to end the day.

Just one more dip in the spa.

Quinn sure enjoyed riding the wind waves that would come through the front door at G&G Warren house.

A cloth to play peek a boo + Gramma Carol = So Much Fun!

It's all in a look between Quinn and Dzadzui.

The final night all together.

Still to come...San Francisco!

Boom-Chicka-Boom-Chicka-BoomBoom....Need I say more?!!

Roarrrr

Is it a lion, is it a monster, is it a possessed alien inside his tummy(it could be any of those depending on the (mood) day)...One things for sure, it's Quinn's new sound!

Day in Cramond

Yesterday we took the 41 bus out to Cramond Island for a great pint. We were wanting some good pub food (that was a miss), but we did have and a nice walk during low tide. It was a bit windy so Quinn hid from the strong breeze...can you find him? I collected some sea glass and hope to put the pieces in a stained glass window (someday)!!

Autumn is here and that means....

Time to put your hat on. Quinn enjoys a good hat and that's good because it is getting chilly out there. We had to run a couple of errands today and a little something to keep his head warm was called for. We have many hats to choose from. Some are new, some are borrowed (thanks Mirjam for this one), and some are hand made. All to be seen here on the blog at some point. We do live in Edinburgh after all, and we have many months of cold weather ahead!

Who you callin' FLUFF?!!

Yesterday Quinn and I ran to the shop to pick up some groceries and a wee Granny said; "Fluff" when we walked by. I turned and smiled, she then explained by grabbing the top of her head and with a big grin...."Baby Fluff"! Ha! Quinn's hair is growing in, but the top-back is growing up and out while the front is laying down. I think this little guy has lots of hair product in his future!

First time at the Cinema.

I know I owe you all many pictures of our time in California, but till then, I thought I would share a few new pics!

Here is Quinn gearing up for his first movie experience. We enjoyed a showing of "Days of Summer" at the Cameo. The theater has a baby friendly showing ("Big Scream"- they call it) almost every other Thursday for those that have little babies, want to get out of the house, sip a free cuppa tea or coffee, and see something on the big screen! There were about 50 mums and a dad in a large theater. The babies were free to scream, cry, feed, and be rocked in the isle so that their parent could enjoy a movie.
Quinn had his first date while we were there. His new friend, Ellie (Joe and Synnove's baby girl) joined Q in the red seats...for a little while!

I get to sit with Ellie and Horsey?

No, don't take Ellie....take me!

It's just you and me horsey!

Life's a Garden..Dig it!

When you visit the Niekrasz house, you spend lots of time enjoying the backyard. Sharing this space with Quinn was really Very special. Lots of walks and talks took place here. Many of us Niekraszes took turns taking him around, but I specifically enjoyed telling Q how his Mommy and Daddy were married here, and where his Grandma and Dziadziu created this space with their own two hands. Quinn got more a kick out of getting 'naked time' and watching the butterflies breeze around the yard, but Someday he will get the specialness of this garden.

"Home...It's Where I Want to Be....

But I guess I'm already there!" For the last month and a half we have been on the go. Our surroundings changed often, and some days/nights were easier than others. The one thing that was consistent was the three of us! Tonight we are far from what became familiar and are back in Edinburgh. When we first got home, the house felt bare, quiet, and distant. After a long morning nap we decided to introduce Quinn to his baby jumper. Instantly the house began to warm. Quinn lit up! We turned on some new "cool kid" tunes, John made dinner, I began unpacking and Quinn entertained us with his laughter, smiles, and JOY of the jump! It made being back here feel good and showed me that wherever we are~we are home. We have loads of photos and stories to share on the wonderful trip to California, but have some sleep to try and get for now! Will be updating you all with all the fun we had soon!
