Quinn has a funny relationship with sleep. After getting even harder to put down than in his first weeks, and waking up at least every 2 hours or so at night, he's actually getting a bit more reliable with his sleeping habits. He can now do 3 hours at a time, and for the past few days, has managed to do those 3 hour sessions at least twice in a night.
This improvement came after we decided to start working toward him being able to fall asleep in the bed rather than requiring our arms to fall asleep. We used to cradle him or put him on our knees and sway him to get him asleep. It was the only way, and still he cried while falling asleep anyways. Now, we just do whatever we can to comfort him, but don't pick him up. The first night was hard, but after only 3 nights, he now only needs a minute or so of rubbing his back to fall asleep in the cot. Nice! This also seems to produce longer sessions of sleep. Presumably, when he wakes up at night, he is putting himself back to sleep with minimal or no crying. More nice!
The other thing about his sleep, which is more relevant to the pictures, is his newly found ability to sleep on his own during the day. For this, only the Boppy will do. And he loves it, as you can see.
